Best Time to Visit Kashmir

Spring (March to May) — The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar blooms in late March and April. Cherry blossoms, almond orchards, and the Mughal Gardens are at their peak. The most colourful season and ideal for first-time visitors.

Summer (June to August) — peak family season. The Gulmarg Gondola runs at full capacity, Pahalgam rivers run clear, and Thajiwas Glacier at Sonamarg is easily accessible. Book three to four months ahead for June and July.

Autumn (September to October) — arguably Kashmir’s finest window. Warm days, cool nights, virtually no rain, and far fewer tourists. October brings the golden Chinar trees that turn Srinagar into a canvas of red and amber.

Winter (November to February) — Gulmarg becomes India’s premier ski destination with fresh powder from December. Dal Lake partially freezes, offering a rare Shikara experience. Hotel prices are usually lower than in summer.
