Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival in Srinagar, Mughal Gardens and Shikara Ride
Your driver meets you at Srinagar Airport (or the railway station). After check-in, visit the Mughal gardens, Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh, and end the day with a shikara ride on Dal Lake. Overnight in a 3-star hotel in Srinagar.
Sonamarg Day Trip
Drive along the Sindh river to Sonamarg (about 80 km, 2.5–3 hours). Visit Thajiwas Glacier by pony or on foot (pony extra). Trips further up, such as Zero Point, use local union cabs at extra cost. Back to Srinagar in the evening. Overnight in Srinagar.
Srinagar to Gulmarg
Drive to Gulmarg (about 50 km, 1.5–2 hours). Ride the Gulmarg Gondola (tickets extra) and spend the afternoon on the meadows, or in the snow in winter. After snowfall, cars need snow chains beyond Tangmarg. Overnight in a 3-star hotel in Gulmarg.
Gulmarg to Pahalgam via the Saffron Fields
A long but scenic drive to Pahalgam (about 140 km, 4–5 hours), passing the saffron fields of Pampore and the Avantipora temple ruins. Evening walk along the Lidder river. Overnight in a 3-star hotel in Pahalgam.
Pahalgam Sightseeing and Back to a Houseboat
Morning in Pahalgam: Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari by Pahalgam’s local union taxis (paid locally, extra). Afternoon drive back to Srinagar and check in to a Dal Lake houseboat for the night.

Best Time to Go
Kashmir works all year, but each season is different. April and May bring spring flowers and the tulips; June to August is green and busy; September to November is dry with golden chinars; December to February brings snow in Gulmarg and Sonamarg. In winter, some roads and spots, such as Chandanwari and parts of Sonamarg, can close after heavy snow, and we adjust the plan on the day.
